Kadai prawns













Ingredients
Prawns (medium) peeled and deveined 1kg

Cumin seeds 2 tsp

Coriander seeds 2 tsp

Black peppercorns 8

Dried red chillies 5

Oil 2 tablespoons

Ginger cut into thin strips 1 inch piece

Green chilli cut into thin strips 2

Onion chopped 2 medium

Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup

Tomato chopped 2 medium

Tomato puree 6 tbsp

Salt to taste

Lemon juice 2 tsp (u can use kokum star also )

Garam masala powder1/2tsp

Method

Dry-roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns and red chillies. Cool and pound to a coarse powder. Heat the oil in a kadai. Add the ginger and green chillies and sauté for half a minute. Add the onions and sauté till light brown.

Add the coarse powder, half the coriander leaves, the tomatoes, tomato purée, salt, and lemon juice (kokumstar), and cook till the oil separates.

Add the prawns with half cup of water and cook over medium heat. Sprinkle the garam masala powder and serve hot, garnished with the remaining coriander leaves.
