Kerala Fish curry with Mango in Coconut milk
Ingredients:-
King Fish - 1/2 kg
Raw/Green mango diced - 1 medium
Small onion chopped - 1/2 cup
Ginger chopped - an inch piece
Green chili sliced- 2
Chili powder - 2 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4tsp
Coconut Oil : 1 1/2 tbsp
Curry Leaves : 2 sprig
Semi Thick Coconut milk – 2nd extract /Randampaal : 1 cup
Thick Coconut milk -1st extract /Onnampaal : 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Method:-
Clean and cut the fish into medium pieces.
Crush ginger and green chiles .
Heat oil in a pan and chopped onions and toss it well for 3-4 minutes.
Add the crushed ginger and green chiles and saute till the raw smell disappears.
Make a paste with chili, coriander and turmeric powder , by adding a little water and add to the pan.
Pour thin coconut milk , mix it well and add fish pieces.
Add diced green mango .
Cook it covered for 15 - 20 minutes. Now add thick milk and curry leaves keep 2 minutes and remove from heat
Serve warm with rice and enjoy!
Notes :
Keep this curry for at least 1-2 hours before serving so that the gravy absorbs all flavors.
I have used king fish in this recipe, you can use this recipe with any fish.
