Spicy Squid Roast/ Nadan Koonthal-Kanava Roast
Ingredients:
Squid- ½ kg
Onion- 2
Tomato-1 big
Ginger garlic crushed -1tbsp
Green chilly-3
Oil-2tbsp
Curry leaves-2 springs
Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
Kashmiri chilly powder-2tsp
Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder-11/2 tsp
Garam masala-½ tsp
Preparation:
Clean the squid and cut it in to small pieces.
Pressure cooks it for one whistle along with turmeric powder, salt, 1/2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and pepper powder (no need to add water, the squid contains lots of water in it).
In another pan; add oil and sauté onion until golden in color.
Add remaining ginger garlic, green chilly and curry leaves.
Sauté until the raw smell goes off.
Add all the powders in a low flame and mix well until dark in color.
Add chopped tomatoes in to it and saute until all the tomatoes are mashed well.
Add cooked squid in to it and cooks until the gravy thickens.
Serve hot with roti or rice
