Appam



Appam Recipe

Ingredients:
1. Raw Rice(Pachari)     2    cup
2. Dry Yeast     ½    tsp
3. Sugar Powder     2    tbsp
4. Cooked Rice     2    tbsp
5. Coconut     1 1/2    cup
6. Water     ½    cup
7. Oil     1    tsp
8. Salt to taste     ½    tsp

• Wash and soak rice for 5-6 hours.
• Dissolve the yeast in some warm water.
• Grind the rice along with coconut  and cooked rice thoroughly.
• Add the dissolved yeast,sugar and salt.Mix gently and leave to ferment for 6-8 hours.
• Pour some batter into the appa chatty (kadai/appam maker) and rotate the pan to get a thin  layer of batter on the sides, with more batter in the middle.
• Keep it covered and cook in medium flame for about a minute.
• When cooked take the appam out with a spatula and it is ready to serve
