Pulissery ( Moru Curry)
Ingredients
Vellarikka – 1 cup( we can use chena,Tapioca)
Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Green Chillies- 2
Shredded Coconut- 1/2 cup
Cumin Seeds- 1 tsp
Shallots- 3 or 4
Yogurt- 1 1/2 cups
Mustard Seeds- 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds- 1 tsp
Curry Leaves- 1 sprig
Dried Red Chillies- 2
Coconut Oil- 2 tbsp
salt to taste
Directions
Dice vellarika (yellow cucumber) into 1 inch square pieces. Cook vellarika, along with salt, pepper powder, turmeric powder and water.
Meanwhile, grind the shredded coconut, yogurt, cumin seeds, shallots, green chillies in a food processor and add it to the cooked velarikka.
In a separate non stick pan, heat coconut oil. Add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds when started to splutter,reduce the flame and put dried red chillies, curry leaves. Put off. Add this to the prepared pulissery and serve it with hot rice.
