Nadan Parippu Thakkali Curry
Ingredients
Tomato (semi ripen)- medium size - 3nos Onion - thinly sliced -1/2 cup
Dal - 1/4 cup
Garlic - thinly sliced - 2 pods
Green Chillies - Slitted - 4 nos
Chilly powder - 1 teaspoons
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Preparation
Wash dal in normal water and drain. Pressure cook and keep aside.
Keep the kadai on flame and add a teaspoon of oil. Saute Garlic for half a minute.
Add Onion, Tomato and Green chillies.
Add Chilly powder, Turmeric powder and salt. Mix all the ingredients well.(should not fry. just a few seconds sauting)
Add 2 cups of water and let it be cooked.
When you the water level reduce to half, add cooked dal and saute.
Keep in flame and cook 5 to 7 minutes.
When you see the gravy getting thick, off the flame.
Keep another kadai and heat 2 teaspoon of oil.
Add mustard and curry leaves.
Season it to the curry.
