Sole Fish Curry


 Sole Fish Curry with coconut ( Manthal meen  curry )
This fish curry is very spicy and tasty. Try it!

Ingredients

1/2 kg Sole Fish (cleaned and cut into pieces)
2 cups of Coconut milk taken from 1/2 coconut grated
1 small Tomato chopped
10 Shallots
2 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
3 or 4 piece. Kumkum star (Kudampuli)
4 Green chilli
1 inch Ginger piece
 Curry leaves 1 sprig
For seasoning:
3 tbsp Coconut oil
1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds (Uluva)
5 shallots chopped
 Curry leaves

Method

Step 1: In a mixer grind shallots, chilli powder, turmeric powder until everything is mixed well.

Step 2:  Put clay pot called Chatti in stove add little coconut oil into this add grinded shallots mixer and saute it well in low flame. Pour the coconut milk into it.

Step 3 : Add chopped Kudampuli  , tomatoes, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and allow the coconut milk mixture to boil for 2 minutes

Step 4 : Then slide fish and salt  to above gravy and allow to cook for 10 minutes in low flame. Then switch of the flame.

Step 5:  For seasoning, heat coconut oil and first fry fenugreek seeds and then shallots. Add curry leaves and pour the seasoning to the fish gravy. Tasty fish curry ready.Serve it with  steamed rice.

Note:

“Chatti” means clay pot in Malayalam language. Cooking in clay pot adds the taste to your Fish curry. If you do not have a clay pot, curry can be cooked in a thick bottomed vessel also.
