    Carrot Puttu

Ingredients:-

• Rice flour - 1 cup
• Carrot - 1 ( big)
• Water - 3/4 cup ( as required)
• Cumin powder - a pinch
• Cardamom powder - a pinch (optional)
• Salt to taste

Preparation:-

1.  Cut the one half of carrot into round shapes and mince the other half.
2.  Cook the round cut carrots for 5 minutes.
3.  Blend the cooked carrots into a thin paste.
4. Pour the carrot paste over the flour and mix well. ( add water if needed).
5. Sprinkle salt, cardamom powder  and cumin seeds to the flour and mix well.
6. For preparing puttu, put some grated coconut into the round puttu maker (puttu kutti )followed by the minced carrot  and rice flour & a layer of minced carrot  ( at the middle ) and finally rice flour.
7.  Close lid and steam it for 5 to 8 minutes until the steam passes from the top of the puttu maker ( puttu kutti).
 Now Carrot Puttu is ready...Serve it hot....
