Kadachakka Chips

kadachakka / Breadfruit Chips

Kada chakka chips are very crispy delicious snack but most of us are unfamiliar with this chips recipe. Kadachakka is a variant of jackfruit and grows abundantly in Kerala. This is the easiest snack you can make for your loved ones in no time and can store for few months also.

Ingredients:

Kada chakka- 2 or 3
Coconut oil as required for deep frying
Salt water as required
Directions:
---------------
1. Clean and peel off breadfruit. Cut vertically into 4 pieces and remove the inner core. Make thin slices of each piece. (The slices should be thin enough to get crispy chips.)
2. Heat oil (prefer coconut oil) in a frying pan. Fry slices of breadfruit(put according to capacity of pan) till turns to golden brown in colour.
3. Reduce flame to low and pour a spoon full of salt water. Remove the chips from oil when the bubbles stop (it happen on addition of salt water).
4. Drain excess oil and store in air tight container.
