Ingredients:
All purpose flour - 11/2 cups
Sugar - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Baking soda- 1/2 tsp
Salt - a pinch
Eggs - 3 nos
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Butter - 1/2 cup or 1 stick(at room temperature )
Milk - 1/2 cup
Baking cocoa - 2 tbsp
Hot water - 1 tbsp
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Sift together flour ,salt and baking powders in a bowl and set aside.
Beat together butter, sugar and eggs for 5 -6 minutes or until it becomes smooth.
To this mixture add vanilla essence and beat again .
Beat in the flour mixture in 3 batches.Divide the batter between two bowls.Keep one aside and pour the other into a greased and floured baking tray.
In a small bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and hot water till smooth.
Stir this cocoa mixture into the reserved batter.Drop by spoonfuls on top of the white batter.
Using a knife, swirl the cocoa batter into the white batter .
Bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until a skewer or knife comes out clean.
Cool and transfer to wire racks.
Slice it and enjoy!!
