Wheat Flour Halwa

Atta halwa  is one of the easiest  and simplest Indian sweet that can be  made in a jiffy.

Ingredients:

Wheat flour/Atta - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup(add more if required)
Water - 1cup
Cardamom powder - a pinch
Cashew nuts(broken) / Almonds - few

Method:

1. In a pan, add half of ghee and fry the cashew nuts until golden brown. Then add the remaining ghee and heat it. Now, reduce the flame to low and add the wheat flour.(sprinkle it across the pan)

2. Roast it in low flame until the colour changes and nice aroma comes. Take care not to burn it. ( Roasting the flour in low flame gives perfect texture for the halwa, so do it carefully) . Slowly add the water at this stage and keep stirring. It will be cooked very quickly and gather into a mass.

3. Finally, add the required sugar. ( Adjust the quantity of the sugar based on your taste buds) .It will start to melt and add more ghee if required. Add cardamom powder.

4. When the halwa turns a little glossy and ghee started to ooze out, switch off the flame.

5. Then grease a tray and pour it and cut into pieces.

Serve with little warm..
