Chicken Bezule

Chicken Bezule is a coastal mangalorean street food made with pieces of chicken .This can be made with boneless chicken or even with bone-in chicken pieces. Its quick easy to make; but you have to marinate it for time; in order to get the great tender fried chicken.

Chicken- 500 gms
Salt- to taste
Oil- to deep fry
Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
Yogurt- 1 tbsp
Kashmiri chili powder- 2 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder- a pinch
All purpose flour/ maida- 1 tbsp
Rice flour- 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Coriander leaves- a handful
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Green chilies- 3
Garlic- 5 flakes, roughly sliced
Ginger- 1 inch piece, roughly chopped

Method:

In a blender grind, curry leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic and and green chilies to a coarse paste.
Transfer the ground paste in a deep bowl and add kashmiri chilly powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, red food color, salt, all purpose flour and rice flour, mix well.
Then add yogurt and lemon juice, combine well to form a paste.
Then add chicken pieces and combine well. Keep the marinated chicken pieces in refrigerator for at least 4 hours or better over night.

Keep out from refrigerator half an hour before frying. Heat a deep bottom frying pan , when the oil is hot enough to fry the chciken pieces, add the pieces in 4 to 5 pieces in a batch and fry them till they are  light brown in colour.  Serve then hot as a evening  snack or as a side dish.
