Red Velvet Cake

Red Velvet cake with a rich cream cheese frosting...This is one easy cake recipe that can be made for any special occasion!
This Red Velvet Cake is much easier to make than the  layer cake, but just as delicious.
Ingredients:

 All purpose flour- 1 ½ cup
Sugar powdered- 1cup
Baking soda-1 tsp
Salt- ½ tsp
Cocoa powder- 1 tsp
Red food color- 2 tsp
Vegetable oil-1 cup
Butter milk- ¾ cup (room temp)
Eggs-2 large (room temp)
White vinegar-3/4 tsp
Vanilla extract- 1 tsp

Preparation:

 Grease a baking pan with oil and dust with flour (or use two same sized pans).
In a large bowl sift together flour, baking soda, sugar, cocoa powder and salt.
In another bowl whisk; eggs, oil, butter milk, food color, vanilla and vinegar together.
Fold the dry ingredients in to above wet mix by little by little and fold it with using a spatula until completely incorporated (smooth).
Pour the cake batter in to the baking tray and  bake it around 40-45 minutes or until a skewer is inserted and check whether it comes out clean.
Remove it from oven and allow cooling completely before icing.

Ingredients for Cream Cheese Frosting

1/2cup unsalted butter, softened
1cup cream cheese, softened
1teaspoon vanilla essence
3cups powdered sugar, plus more as needed

Steps:

1)  In large bowl, beat softened butter and cream cheese with electric mixer on medium speed 2 to 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally, until smooth and creamy.
2) Stir in vanilla, then stir in powdered sugar. Add more powdered sugar as needed until frosting is a thick spreadable consistency.
3) Spread or pipe frosting on cooled cake .
